Long Tubes: Brenda Hutchinson
Brenda Hutchinson
Star Strangled Banner - This version of the Star Spangled Banner is sung in the key of the most disruption for the Long Tube and voice. Long Tube with "LiSa" - LiSa is a program developed by Steim which allows the performer to sample sounds during the performance and to play them back. Live from the Faulturum - This improvisation was recorded in Osnabruk, Germany in June, 1999. The Faulturum is a twenty story, hollow cement structure designed to store sewage and convert it to usable energy.
What Can You Do? - Brenda Hutchinson
What You Can Do? is about reclaiming public space through direct engagement with strangers. Our comfort in public often depends on our ability to keep to ourselves and to maintain invisible bubbles around ourselves as we navigate through what has become a fractured, often hostile public sphere.
Brenda Hutchinson is a composer and sound artist whose work is based on the cultivation and encouragement of openness in her own life and in those she works with.
