Concert will be a simulation of cistern acoustics from the seminal Deep Listening album (New Albion Records) recorded by the Deep Listening Band. This evening will also mark the DVD release of a live concert with Pauline and Cecil Taylor at EMPAC.

Deep Listening Intensive with Pauline Oliveros

Ratna Ling Retreat Center in Sonoma County, CA
In the meditative atmosphere of Ratna Ling, participants will explore core concepts of improvisation. Musicians of all abilities, as well as non-musicians, may participate in the Deep Listening exercises during the intensive. All styles and abilities will be welcomed in an open exploratory circle. There will be improvisations with and without instruments.
